Every donation is crucial
DONATE NOWThanks to our donors:
— Children received medicines and medical supplies and underwent medical examinations that cost $122,830. Among the 188 children who have received such assistance is 13-year-old Katya, for whom the Foundation purchased the immunotherapy drug Blinatumomab worth $30,917. Sometimes, such expensive medicines are the only chance for children to continue treatment and recover. Thank you for giving children this chance with your donations.
— Six hospitals received medicines and supplies worth $80,558. In particular, Okhmatdyt received consumables for neurosurgical operations, which make the most complex brain interventions safer for children.
Another $40,906 was spent on improving hospital infrastructure, particularly on replacing filters for the ventilation system in the new building of Okhmatdyt National Children’s Hospital. The filters were damaged during the missile attack on July 8, 2024. Clean air is critically important for seriously ill children, including those fighting cancer. Also, with these funds, we provided Okhmatdyt and the Clinical Center of Children’s’ Healthcare in Lviv with computers and components.
Together with donors and partners, we are constantly improving the conditions for children’s treatment.
— In February, 129 doctors took training courses, attended conferences, improved their English language skills, and received financial support. $28,848 was spent to improve their knowledge and skills.
— $29,417 was spent on the Foundation’s palliative care program. Consultations with doctors and psychologists, classes with rehabilitation therapists, medicines and necessary care items, and fulfillment of dreams — all this helps families with terminally ill children live more comfortably and pain-free. We select the types of assistance that each family needs. In February, 54 families were under the care of this program.
— $15,604 was spent on psychological assistance for 125 families. Tabletochki provides psychological support not only to the child who is ill but also to their parents and, if necessary, to siblings. The fight against cancer affects the whole family. Psychologists help them cope with the effects of prolonged stress and find the strength to move on.
— $8,429 was allocated to provide outpatient housing for 24 families in Kyiv and Lviv. Outpatient apartments are an essential support for families who cannot afford to rent housing in the city where their child is undergoing treatment. At the same time, they need to come to the hospital very often for procedures and examinations.
— $9,797 — expenses of the In-hospital Quality of Life program. In hospital, children lose contact with the outside world: they can’t attend kindergarten, school, their favorite hobby groups, or see their friends. At such times, it is extremely important for them to have reasons to be happy. That is why we organize holidays in oncology wards, creative workshops, ceremonial discharges, and give families a Care Package — a set of special things that support them in the most difficult first months of cancer treatment.
— $6,509 was allocated to the Survivorship Care Program. We help families overcome the consequences of prolonged isolation and return to active life after a child’s recovery from cancer through camps, outdoor activities, and meetings of the Lemonade Barrel teen club.
— $5,054 was allocated to support families facing difficult life circumstances. This program is primarily aimed at families who have been financially drained by a prolonged struggle with a child’s illness, as well as by the challenges of war, such as relocation and job loss. We assist these families by providing winter clothing, food, and improved living conditions.
All this was made possible thanks to you. In February, on the International Childhood Cancer Day, 1460 people subscribed to monthly donation for children and became their superfriends.
