Every donation is crucial
DONATE NOWThanks to our donors:
— Children received medicines, other medical supplies, and underwent examinations, totaling $84,935. Not all medicines and procedures essential for children’s recovery can be provided by the state, especially during wartime. That is why donorʼs help is crucial for successful treatment.
— Eight hospitals received medicines and supplies worth $66,582. In particular, $34,125 was spent on consumables for neurosurgical operations. They reduce the risk of disability in children undergoing complex brain surgery.
Another $14,303 was spent on improving the infrastructure of the Clinical Center for Pediatric Medicine in Lviv, including repairing the neurosurgical department and the ventilation system in the bone marrow transplantation boxes. Another $14,671 was spent on equipment for the hospital’s laboratory.
Together with our partners and donors, we are doing everything possible to ensure that children are treated in safe and comfortable conditions and that hospitals are able to provide them with the necessary care.
— In November, 152 healthcare professionals attended conferences abroad, took training courses, observerships, learned English and received financial support. The cost of this program amounted to $26,982. Investing in the continuous development of medical professionals guarantees that children will receive quality care based on modern standards.
— $28,264 was allocated to the Foundation’s palliative care program. For children whose cancer cannot be overcome, we provide medications and care products, organize consultations with doctors and psychologists, arrange sessions with a canine therapist and specially trained dogs, and make their dreams come true. We do everything possible to help them live pain-free and enjoy quality time with their loved ones.
— $13,615 was spent on psychological assistance to children and their families. It is extremely difficult for families caught between two wars — both the country’s and the one with childhood cancer — to find the strength to continue fighting and remain optimistic. Professional psychologists help them manage significant stress.
— $11,138 covered the cost of providing outpatient housing for 34 families (child + one adult) in Kyiv and Lviv in November. Not every stage of cancer treatment requires a child to stay in the hospital all the time, but at the same time, they cannot go home hundreds of kilometers away because they need to be on time for procedures and tests. We rent apartments in Kyiv and Lviv for such cases.
— $8,040 was allocated for social support and rehabilitation of families who have completed treatment. The long and exhausting fight against childhood cancer has psychological consequences that can affect the whole family’s life for many years after recovery. We help to cope with these problems by organizing meetings of the Lemonade Barrel teen club, family team-building activities, and camps.
— $9,615 was allocated to the In-hospital Quality of Life program. We organize celebrations in oncology departments, special discharges, creative workshops, and provide gifts to help children retain their childhood despite challenging treatment.
— $5,319 was allocated to help families in difficult life situations with their daily needs. We help the beneficiaries of this program with winter clothes, food, and improved living conditions. Most often, such assistance is needed by families who have been financially exhausted by a long struggle with a child’s illness. The goal of the program is to ensure proper care for the child and reduce the risk of premature completion of treatment.
The Foundation’s expenses for raising funds to help children amounted to 10,2%, and administrative expenses amounted to 5.5%.
