Every donation is crucial
DONATE NOWThanks to our donors:
— Children received medicines, other medical supplies, and underwent examinations, totaling $86,781. Not all medicines and procedures essential for children’s recovery can be provided by the state, especially during wartime. That is why donorʼs help is crucial for successful treatment.
— Eleven hospitals received medicines and supplies worth $61,993. An additional $10,156 was spent on improving hospital infrastructure. We are doing everything possible to ensure that children are treated in safe and comfortable conditions and that hospitals can provide them with the necessary care.
— In September, 116 doctors attended educational events, learned English, and received financial support. The cost of this program amounted to $25,477. Continuous medical training ensures that children receive quality care based on modern standards.
— $33,863 was allocated to the Foundation’s palliative care program. For children whose cancer cannot be overcome, we provide medications and care products, organize consultations with doctors and psychologists, arrange sessions with a canine therapist and specially trained dogs, and make their dreams come true. We do everything possible to help them live pain-free and enjoy quality time with their loved ones.
— $15,819 was spent on psychological assistance to children and their families. It is extremely difficult for families caught between two wars — both the country’s and the one with childhood cancer — to find the strength to continue fighting and remain optimistic. Professional psychologists help them manage significant stress.
— $10,105 covered the cost of providing outpatient housing for 41 families (child + one adult) in Kyiv and Lviv. Following the shelling of Okhmatdyt, which reduced the hospital’s bed capacity, this assistance has become even more critical. The outpatient apartments allow families to stay near the hospital and access care when their child needs procedures or tests.
— $14,495 was allocated for social support and rehabilitation of families who have completed treatment. The long and exhausting fight against childhood cancer has psychological consequences that can spoil the whole family’s life for many years after recovery. We help to cope with these problems by organizing meetings of the Lemonade Barrel teen club, family team-building activities, and camps. Such activities aim to return families under the Foundation’s care to society and everyday life.
— $5,396 was allocated to the Child Life program. We organize celebrations in oncology departments, special discharges, creative workshops, and provide gifts to help children retain their childhood despite challenging treatment.
— $5,810 was allocated to help families in difficult life situations with their daily needs. We help the beneficiaries of this program with winter clothes, food, and improved living conditions. Most often, such assistance is needed by families who have been financially exhausted by a long struggle with a child’s illness. The goal of the program is to ensure proper care for the child and reduce the risk of premature completion of treatment.
The Foundation’s expenses for raising funds to help children amounted to 12%, and administrative expenses amounted to 5.5%.
