Every donation is crucial
DONATE NOWThanks to our donors:
— Children received medicines, other medical supplies, and underwent examinations, totaling $95,071. During the war, the state cannot meet all the needs of children with cancer, so such targeted assistance becomes even more critical for those who are being treated here and now.
— Seven hospitals received medicines and supplies worth $38,909.
Another $56,286 was allocated to improve the hospital infrastructure. In particular, these are the costs of replacing filters for the ventilation system of the new building of Okhmatdyt National Children’s Hospital. A Russian missile strike on July 8 last year damaged the filters. Clogged with construction dust, they could no longer fulfill their function, and clean air is critical for seriously ill children.
These amount also includes contributing to repair work at the Clinical Center of Childrens’ Healthcare in Lviv.
Together with our partners and donors, we are doing everything possible to ensure that children are treated in safe and comfortable conditions and that hospitals are able to provide them with the necessary care.
— In January, 127 healthcare workers attended training courses, including English language courses, and received financial support. Investments in the continuous development of medical workers amounted to $23,087. We work to ensure that children receive quality care based on modern standards.
— $26,828 was spent on palliative care for 50 families with terminally ill children. For those whose cancer cannot be overcome, we buy medicines and care products, organize consultations with doctors and psychologists, sessions with a canine therapist and specially trained dogs, and make their dreams come true. Our goal is to relieve children of pain and help them spend quality time with their families despite the difficult circumstances.
— $13,655 was spent on psychological assistance to 125 children and their families. It is extremely difficult for families caught between two wars — both the country’s and the one with childhood cancer — to find the strength to continue fighting and remain optimistic. Professional psychologists help them manage significant stress.
— $9,590 covered the cost of providing outpatient housing for 30 families (child + one adult) in Kyiv and Lviv. Not every stage of cancer treatment requires a child to stay in the hospital all the time, but at the same time, they cannot go home hundreds of kilometers away because they need to be on time for procedures and tests. We rent apartments for such cases.
— $6,819 was allocated to help families in difficult life situations with their daily needs. We help the beneficiaries of this program with winter clothes, food, and improved living conditions. The goal of the program is to provide proper care for the child and reduce the risk of premature completion of treatment due to the family’s financial difficulties.
Thanks to you, all this help is possible. In January, 72% of the funding raised came from individual donations. Here, you can see a detailed financial report with information about our expenses and income.
Thank you for giving families facing childhood cancer hope for a healthy future!
