Before Maksym was diagnosed with cancer of the lymph nodes, he loved spending time outdoors with his dad. But for several months now, he has been in the hospital and can only see his dad through a window.

Like most children undergoing cancer treatment, Maksym’s immune system is very vulnerable to infections. That is why close contact with loved ones is not always possible.

After recovery, Maksym dreams of getting a new bike, having a dog or a cat, and even becoming the mayor of Odesa — to protect the beauty of the city.

Although he is from the Poltava region, he often visits his grandfather in Odesa. That is how he fell in love with the city.
