In January 2026, a small lump appeared on Kyrylo’s eyelid. It looked like a stye, but when it did not go away after a few days, his mother began taking him to doctors.
After extensive testing, doctors discovered that the lump on Kyrylo’s eyelid was one sign of a much more serious illness — blood cancer.
Treatment was hard on Kyrylo. His body took a long time to recover after each round of chemotherapy: just as he started feeling better, it was time for the next round. From February until mid-July, he and his mother remained in the hospital the entire time.
Kyrylo later underwent a bone marrow transplant. He is now recovering from the procedure, but he still cannot return home.
Kyrylo and his mother are staying in a Foundation-provided outpatient housing near Okhmatdyt Children’s Hospital. It offers a temporary home for children who no longer need to stay in the hospital around the clock but still need to remain nearby for regular checkups and tests.
Make a charitable donation to help children like Kyrylo have not only the medicines they need, but also a temporary home close to the hospital for as long as they need it.
