In the summer of 2025, Daryna from Lviv Oblast suddenly began clutching her head and crying. Soon other symptoms appeared: she could no longer swallow, and her eyes started to cross.

An urgent examination revealed a brain tumor. At the Clinical Center of Children’s Healthcare in Lviv, she underwent surgery and started chemotherapy.

It was during one of these chemotherapy sessions that Daryna took her very first steps. Now she longs to walk everywhere and explore the world — but the demanding treatment holds her back.

“It’s hard for her because she doesn’t understand what is happening, and it’s hard for us because she is still so little and cannot say what bothers her. Sometimes she just cries and nothing helps until you give her pain relief,” says her mother, Maria.

For children like Daryna to have everything they need to fight this disease, your support is essential.
